5. Look at these three sentences: I’m writing, but my phone is ringing.

                          I’m playing the trumpet, but the doorbell is ringing.

                          The dog is singing, but you are laughing loudly.

  T explain the special features of these sentences.

  Then T ask some questions and let Ss answer.

Step3: Drill

1. T: Ok, let’s play a game. It’s chump game.

  T back to Ss, Ss read the first sentence one or two times, then T turn around suddenly. Ss must

  stop quickly.

2. Game: Lucky dog

  Ss read the second sentence one or more times together, and pass a thing at the same time.

  When stop, the student is the lucky dog, he/she can get a sticker.

Step4: Learning

1. T: Open your book and turn to page 18. Now, listen to the tape.

First time, just listen to the tape.

Step5: Homework:     Read the text fluently by themselves.
