【设计意图】通过让学生数蛋糕上的小蜡烛，再次复习数字1-10，并自然过渡到词汇eleven, 实现了新旧知识的平稳过渡，又通过说数学算式练习数字，不仅多次运用了新词汇eleven, 还又一次让学生在新的情境中综合运用、认读旧词汇1-10，建立了新旧知识之间的联系，协助学生建构新知识。另外，教师采用积极恰当的对学生的参与情况做出评价，以便激发学生的学习兴趣，参与热情。）
T: (承接上一环节，最后呈现Eleven and one is _______.) Children, What is eleven and one? 
Ss:（个别学生）Twelve. (T给2 candles，Bb writing the word.处理方式同上。先听课件的发音，再模仿，老师强调/twel/ /v/ 集体读，个别检查。)
T: Childen, today is Mother Dog’s birthday. Some animals go to her house to celebrate her birthday. Look, how many cats? (屏幕上只有一个)

T: Really? Look carefully!(点击课件一只只小猫进入狗妈妈的房子。)

【设计意图】】单纯数字的学习对孩子们来说是非常乏味和枯燥的，但是一旦赋予这些数字不同的意义，孩子们学习起来就有了动力和热情。该活动通过让孩子们数一数来参加生日party动物的数量,既练习了twelve 的认读，又强化了How many …的语句及相关动物类词汇，做到了前后知识的融会与贯通。学生也很感兴趣。同时给起来问答的学生贴蜡烛，注意评价的连贯性。）

Ss: (师、生同数) One , two, ... fourteen. Oh, it’s easy. Four--teen, fourteen. (把单词卡片从中间折起来，让学生认读four 然后根据板书上thirteen, 认读teen。这个单词相对比较简单，所有可以略处理。)
