teaching picture, word cards, recorder, colours, some bottles of water.

Ⅴ．Teaching steps:

1. Warming up

1) Saying hello

Students and teacher say hello to each other.

2) Sing a song: Colours

2. Presentation

a. T: I have a beautiful picture, it’s a garden, a beautiful garden. Do you want to see it?

Ss: Yes!

T: OK! Let’s go to the garden, but pay attention: What do you see in the garden?

The teacher help the students to find the answer—colours

Then let the students listen the new words for two times.

b. Play the magic games:

T: I’m the magician, I can play the magic games. Do you want to see?

Ss: Yes!

T: But I need your help. Would you like to help me?

Ss: Yes!

Take out a bottle of water and ask the students: Do you see colours?

Ss: No!

T: Do you remember “red”? Mm… I like red, do you think I can make it red? Let the students say: Red, red, I like red. Red, red, I like red…….As this time, the teacher shake the bottle hardly till it turned red.

Write “red” and put the red card on the board.

Use the same way to make the water yellow.

Ask one student to come out and make the water blue with the teacher’s help.

Show the students a bottle of yellow water and ask the students: What colour? Do you know?

Ss: Yellow!

T: Do you like yellow?

Ss: Yes!

T: Good! But I like green better. Who can make it green?

Ask one student to come out and make the water green.

3. Practice

Game one: Guess what colour is it in the ball?

Game two: The next colour

Sing the song: Colours

4. Homework

Find and say the colours to your parents at home.
