II. Review
1. Ask Ss to make phrases with “washed” “played”
2.T presents the picture of Wu Yifan with the sentence:
He was free yesterday. He_____ yesterday.
T gives some pictures(such as climbed the mountain, went hiking, washed clothes) for hints.
Then T circle the picture and give the answer: went hiking.
3.T asks Ss to make phrases with “went”.
4.T presents a woman. She was busy last weekend. She______last weekend.
T asks Ss to choose the picture, guess and answer “She____ last weekend”.
Then T presents the new word”did housework”.and asks Ss to make phrases with “did”.
III. Presentation
1. T makes Ss ask: Miss Yang, what did you do last weekend?
I gives some pictures and sentence structures for Ss to guess and answer :
 I ______ last Saturday morning/ evening/ last Sunday afternoon.
Then make Ss understand and say: You were busy last weekend.
Makes Ss pay attention to the past tense of  “be”
Then asks Ss to make a dialogue with these sentence structures.
 
2. T presents the calendar of

T ask Ss to forcast if Wu Yifan was busy or free last weekend.
Then T asks Ss to read the passage P30 and answer the questions:
What did he do last Saturday? Why?
T checks the answer:
He visited his grandparents. Because it was his grandma’s birthday.
Then asks Ss to finish the exercises on P30.
Asks 3 students to write the answer on the blackboard and checks them.
3. T presents the passage without some key words and asks Ss to fill the blanks according to the passage.
Then show the whole passage, give some pictures for hints, and ask Ss to retell the story.
 
IV. Extension
T presents the calendar of Mar. 8. It was Women’s Day.
Present the picture of a woman.
T: This is Wu Yifan’s mother. She was busy last weekend.
T presents the pictures of cooked the meals, cleaned the room and washed the clothes  and ask Ss to listen to the tape and number the pictures.
Then presents the whole passage for Ss to check the answer.
It was Women’s Day. But I was busy. I did housework. I washed the clothes and cleaned the room for my son. And I cooked the meals for my son. I was tired, but I was happy. Because I love my son.
T: It was women’s Day. But Wu Yi fan’s mother was so busy. What did Wu Yifan say to his mother: Mom, you ____ for me. You _____ for me. You were busy/tired.
T: Was your mother tired. What did your mother do for you. Could you say something to your mother: Mom, you ____ for me. You were busy/tired.
T: So Wu Yi fan write a letter to his moth

How are you? You were busy. You cooked the breakfast for me in the morning. You cleaned my bedroom and washed my clothes. You did the dishes in the evening. You were so tired. I love you!
